The Fathers Day 5, in support of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, is a 5km walk / run experience that passes through sports-famed venues including ANZ Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park and Albert Park in Melbourne. The event has grown considerably since inception in 2006, with over 5,000 people participating across the Sydney and Melbourne events in 2007.

The 2008 Fathers Day 5 will be held in both Sydney (Sydney Olympic Park) and Melbourne (Albert Park) on Sunday 7th September. The 5km run and walk will commence at 9.00am at all venues with event festivities continuing until midday.

Online registrations are NOW OPEN and will close at 5pm on Monday 1st September 2008. On the day entries will be available in both the walk and the run at both venues (increased fee applies).

In 2007, over 2,000 Sydney-siders made history by running under ANZ Stadium in the second annual Fathers Day 5 at Sydney Olympic Park. Here’s what a few participants had to say:

‘This is a great event, beautifully organised and managed, with tremendous attention to detail and in support of a worthy cause.’ Andrea Moller, Pymble

‘Everything about The Fathers Day 5 was fabulous. Please convey my thanks and congratulations to all those involved in its organisation and to the army of volunteers who were helpful, encouraging and cheerful. A GREAT day!!!’ Sue McNamara, Baulkham Hills

‘Our family had a ball!’ Kelly Wade, San Souci

‘Just wanted to let you know that my husband and I did the run today, our first fun run! We had a great run and it was a good challenge. We had fun! Well Done! We will be back next year.’
Rebecca Edwards, Summer Hill

In 2008, the Fathers Day 5 returns bigger and better than ever on Sunday 7 September. It's 5km’s of FUN the whole family will enjoy - Walk, Jog or Run.
